Mr. Conrad is a lifelong New Jersey resident. He is a graduate of Governor Livingston High School in Berkeley Heights. Mr. Conrad attended Rutgers College, where he majored in Political Science and minored in History. Mr. Conrad graduated from Rutgers College cum laude with Highest Distinction in Political Science. His Henry Rutgers Thesis was entitled “Nationalism in American College Students, An Apologetic Gesture to the Past.” In law school, Mr. Conrad worked with Camden Regional Legal Services, the Fair Share Housing Center and interned with the Environmental Protection Agency. He was also a Park Interpreter with the National Park Service at Independence National Historical Site in Philadelphia during the United States Bicentennial, from 1976-1977. After graduation from law school, Mr. Conrad clerked in the Middlesex County Superior Court, and in 1979 joined the law firm of Sonnenblick, Parker & Selvers, Freehold, New Jersey as an Associate and in 1987 became a Partner. At Sonnenblick, Parker & Selvers, Mr. Conrad handled general litigation, corporate and transactional matters with a concentration in private placements, initial public offerings and associated Blue Sky compliance. In 1988, Mr. Conrad was co-author of “An Overview of the Underwriting Process,” New Jersey Lawyer, May, 1988. In 1991, Mr. Conrad opened his own law office in Jamesburg, New Jersey and moved to his present location in 2012. In 2001 Mr. Conrad was joined by Mark S. Vincent, Esq., who was also previously associated with Sonnenblick, Parker & Selvers.
Mr. Conrad presently specializes in corporate, business and real estate law. He has represented numerous small and midsize corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships from inception through all stages of development. Representation includes initial organization, all issues encountered during business development including real estate purchases and leases, finance issues, contract and vendor issues, employee relations, litigation and administrative law issues, and matters relating to merger, sale, acquisition and dissolution. Mr. Conrad handles commercial real estate transactions including restaurants, warehouses, retail strip mall locations, undeveloped properties, office locations and investment properties as well as 1031 Like Kind Exchanges. Mr. Conrad also represents individuals with regard to residential real estate transactions, employment issues, wills and estates, and other general legal matters.
Mr. Conrad is an avid hiker and photographer. He and his wife have over the years hiked and camped in many National Parks including most recently Grand Canyon and Denali National Parks. Mr. Conrad’s wife is a high school biology teacher. Both of Mr. Conrad’s sons are attorneys, one of whom is an Associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City, and the other an Assistant Prosecutor in Essex County, New Jersey. Mr. Conrad is a Trustee of The Frances Foundation for Kids Fighting Cancer, Inc.
